A Marvelous Tea Party

I've been to a marvelous Party,
With Bubba, and Sarah and Jules
We wore Patriot hats
and removeable tats
Rode Harleys and acted like fools.

We drew a mustache on Obama
And spat at the mention of Gore

And we all knew the fun was about to begin
When Bubba hung eight teabags from his hats brim
And shouted the N-word and "Let's Impeach Him"
And I couldn't have liked it much more.

Yes I've been to a marvelous Party
To meet twenty thousand like me
OK, it was not
As large as we thought
We numbered six hundred and three.

We ranted and railed about taxes,
Obama's tax cuts we ignored.

And we all know the fun was about to begin
When Alaska's ex-governor Sarah Palin
Said You Betcha! Next time we won't quit…we will win!
And I couldn't have liked it much more.… Read the rest

Orange Flavoured Green Tea

We all know the benefits of drinking green tea, its anti-aging, anti-oxidant properties. Green tea is excellent for your skin and so is the vitamin C from orange juice.
Why not make a great tasting iced tea combining the two? A healthy way to cool off this summer.

You’ll need:

4 cups water
4 green tea bags
Juice of 2 oranges

Have Lunch and Shop at the Antique Sampler Mall Tea Room in Arlington, Texas

The Garden Tea Room inside the Anttique Sample Mall boasts beautiful antiques and collectibles, in addition to delicious teas, desserts, and lunch. What more could you ask for? I had reservations at the Garden Tea Room for a bridal party, and it was truly the best dining experience. The atmosphere is serene, and the air smells of cinnamon and flowers. It literally looks like an indoor garden. Everyone was incredibly nice, especially the server. She was so accomodating and attentive. The menu is surprisingly large, for a tea room, and the desserts are heavenly. The chocolate cake was the most decadent I’ve ever tasted. Try the gourmet food and flavored teas, and then take a look around the store and do a little shopping because there is a fabulous collection jewelry and gifts. Spicy fresh tang
Green-looking

Both cool and hot
A steaming cup –
This peppermint tea.

Green-looking
Yet so yang
Peppermint is for me.

Aromatic coolness –
Slowing down thoughts,
Not heaven sent.
Relaxing the palate
Stopping the madness

To give up its growth
To make me a drink
Once a plant waving
In the breeze

Southern Sweet Tea

I love sweet tea! The inspiration for this poem is my tea recipe. To make Southern Sweet Tea: Place four family-size tea bags into a pot/bowl of very hot water and allow it to steep for at least 30 minutes (do NOT boil). Transfer the tea to a tea jug (at the sink) and stir in 1 cup (8oz) of sugar. Add enough water to fill the jug to the top. Let the tea sit in the fridge overnight for best results! You can add up to 1/4 cup more of the sugar, if you like your tea even sweeter. Note: Sweet tea gets sweeter after it has been in the refrigerator; it will be sweeter tomorrow, than it is today. Enjoy!

  • sweet tea with sugar
  • four bags, hot water, steeping
  • enjoy with lemon
